Information and Communication Convergence

TouK, as one of the first companies on the Polish market, implements convergent services and applications. We expand the traditional set of telecommunications services by next generation applications which effectively combine IT and Telco technologies.

Our offer is addressed mainly to the leading telecom operators, both traditional – stationary and mobile, including the internet operators. The solutions offered by TouK may also be used in other companies which wish to efficiently use telecommunications services in their business processes or provide their own services on the basis of the infrastructure of operators.

We specialize in designing systems tailored to meet clients’ individual needs. We create solutions based on our own portfolio and an excellent knowledge of products available on the market, both open source and commercial ones. We implement holistic projects: from the analysis of the solutions used by the client, through the development and implementation of a coherent system, to technical support in its maintenance.

 

We are a part of a new trend on the market where telecommunications go beyond voice and data transmission and traditional value-added services. The combination of information technologies and the advantages of telecommunications infrastructure opens new possibilities in the area of attracting customers and generating revenues (2-sided telecoms business model), both for the operators and for the companies seeking their chance in a wider use of telecommunications in their activities.

We support the operators in the transformation of their service infrastructure. We accompany other customers step by step in the construction of the systems at the joint of telecommunications and IT.

  • We create new personalized telecommunications services on the basis of experience and functionality of the IT world;
  • We create web applications in line with Web 2.0 trends, integrated with the infrastructure of the operator and using its telecommunications functionality;
  • We support making available the telecommunications functionality to the customers and partners of the operator by means of interface outside its infrastructure (service enabling API);
  • We programme the signalling and services for the media in application servers and terminal equipment;
  • We build tools for monitoring the services and for diagnostic testing of telecommunications networks, both in the package and radio layer.

We always rely on open standards, compliant with the requirements and recommendations of 3GPP, OMA, ETSI TISPAN, IETF. We create the applications on the basis of standardised environments, such as JAIN SLEE, SIP Servlet or J2EE. Full compliance with technical standards ensures the stability of solutions which allows for implementing them into production. But this is only half the battle.

The possibility to build solutions and perform the tests within real infrastructure is no less important. To this end, we created two autonomous environments, namely VoIP and IMS. We use the VoIP environment on a daily basis as a local network connected to the commercial telecommunications operator. Excellent practical knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure allows us for creating optimal solutions in the appropriate place within the architecture.
