Human Interactions Service Engine
HISE (Human Interactions Service Engine) is a project developed by TouK which is currently supported by Apache Incubator. The project’s objective is to include tasks performed by humans in the framework of business processes in the web services orchestration mechanism. By developing Apache HISE, TouK creates a tool to use in commercial projects. But it is equally important to us to contribute to developing the open Apache community.
TouK trainees will also provide input to this excellent community. It is an opportunity to gain unique experience (the team will be supervised by Rafał Rusin, a member of the Apache ODE Project Management Committee) and to introduce one’s name to the world in the context of the latest IT technology.
The internship will be available for those currently about to finish their fourth year of studies. We expect the candidates to be familiar with Java, XML and XML Schema.
The internship project starts on 1 July 2010 and will continue until August 31. The programme involves a full‑time job for a remuneration, of course.

Storytelling Next Step
We invite students to join our new project, SNS (Storytelling Next Step). This innovative Internet application will be directed to the public user on international market. The aim of the application is to make a subsequent step in storytelling (creating stories, novels, and other narratives).
The best programming methods will be used, such as: Domain Driven Design, Scrum, Extreme Programming, and especially: Behaviour/Test Driven Development, and Pair Programming.
The following technologies will be applied: Java, Spring, JPA/Hibernate, Wicket, and jUnit/Mockito.
Special focus will be placed on Software Craftsmanship. The methods and technologies mentioned are among the most sought after and the most needed skills on the market.
An ideal candidate should be a passionate, familiar with the rules of object-oriented programming (should enjoy the process), willing to learn and develop (also to read books in his free time), who is currently about to finish the fourth year of studies.
We would require the successful candidates to read the first 300 pages of the book by Robert C. Martin, entitled 'Clean Code: A Handbook of Agile Software Craftsmanship'. Don't be scared off, the book is easy and fun to read.
Jakub Nabrdalik will be in charge of the project. His articles are available on: http://touk.pl/blog/
The traineeship will begin on 14 June 2010 (this date can be negotiated, should it coincide with your exams), and will last for about 2.5 – 3 months.
